A bold suggestion for @jacek & the $DEGEN community: $DEGEN tips should become $tDEGEN to differentiate them from liquid $DEGEN. (This would follow industry norms like AAVE’s aETH or “ve” for vested tokens, etc.) Just gave away 500K $DEGEN in a /yellow contest & many were asking “tips or tokens?” WDYT?

sounds interesting but the tipping is momentary and will not last forever. don't know if it would be worth it for the short time.

This is a really good idea. In some way, tips really are unvested/locked up/staked degen. If some degen wants to go extra crazy, they should actually create the derivative liquid token to let people “withdraw” their tips early for a fee. Lido for unclaimed degen tips. 500 $degen

I hv seen newcommers getting a bit confused but they get it after some explaining. Interesting idea. The major downside is, it will increase greed and less tipping. So if I accumulate tDEGEN, I will be less likely to give it out and will keep to swap for DEGEN for myself. Cuz points are not for me and illiquid, I tip.

Makes sense. It wouldn't actually be a token though right? Might then have some spam/phishing issues with another tDegen token or something? Just thinking out loud.

Unnecessary imo. The only way to tip is via a cast afaik. By default we know it’s a tip if it’s in a cast. All for moving tips onchain but that doesn’t need a new ticker symbol either. ✌️

I get the frustration, and as moderator in the telegram group fielding all these questions time and time again, after 2+ months of 100 $DEGEN being the format, a change would be catastrophic 1. WHERE'S MY TIP!?!?! 2. apps that coded to say $DEGEN already 3. WHERE'S MY TIP!?!?! Mostly I think more education needed

My two cents: Leave it as-is. I’m not sure it would help newcomers a substantial amount. Moreover, everyone tipping now would have to be retrained.
