Before creator rewards and the “free mint” meta, most creators struggled to ever make money from their art. After @zora pioneered the model, I’ve seen many artists make lots of ETH in creator rewards. Psychology is a hell of a drug.

I'm a big champion of artists making money but the free mint meta directly aims at their long term artistic careers in favor of short term financial reward, which is perfectly fine if that path was chosen conscientiously.

I just don’t think that’s true. @ilustradoraeth, @priyanka, @brettdrawsstuff, @sloppy, @ccarella.eth are just a few artists off the top of my head who have have seen the power of creator rewards without sacrificing in any way their artistic integrity or reputations.

thanks for the tag toady! i've done a few zora mints this year to fafo(mint with warps drop with the merkle team) and to participate in collectives like /metaliminal (/yellow is next), but i've also shared my thoughts below that counter my participation in zora mints. especially now, with the rewards being in cents. the most i've earned in mints was from purple inversion, because @dwr.eth was the one who casted about the drop. my metaliminal member gallery mint has about 60 mints, and 'building blueOM' had 50ish mints before it got featured on /onchainsummer webpage, which then jumped to over 300. again, that was bc of the feature, not my art in itself. cc @sunnysangwan
