Remember how much most of Farcaster was worried about / scoffed at / looked down on / doubted early $degen? (I do, bc I felt that way.) And remember how quickly we changed our tune once $degen succeeded and got attention? And how it helped the network to a big growth moment? ^ This experience makes me much more humble about casting stones. Instead, I prefer to be open minded, give things a little time to play out, and — most importantly — do what I can to help out the builders who I believe in… with whatever they happen to be trying!

True. But i also think another truth is that is pretty difficult not to have a cynical perspective after you’ve been in the space for a while. Been lied to, rugged, and used as “exit liquidity”, especially through marketing campaigns by influencers, so often on CT. I don’t want Farcaster to have similar vibes so i think people throwing up red flags or having a bit of cynicism might be useful? I know by even sending this cast, I’m kindve dunking on myself bc im proving your point, but Farcaster needs a bit more cynicism sometimes. And i think a lot of the critiques or dunks around content coins are more focused on questioning the promotion and marketing of them by one of the largest crypto companies in the world.

I agree man. It’s all a balance. But the person/project being criticized right now… I just don’t have any doubt about their intentions and abilities. So I’m gonna personally err on the side of support, or at least of “wait and see”

That’s true. For what it’s worth I don’t think this conversation would even be happening on CT. I don’t know the founders of the projects beyond running into them at Farcon. So I’ve been cautiously pessimistic around the promotion of these coins.
