Is anyone on Farcaster using Towns? Each town is a group chat represented by a smart contract on Base. Assuming you could identify all the towns, then you could see how many of the users are on Farcaster. Neat thing about permissionless / composable / onchain social products. https://x.com/benrbn/status/1846621962337993020

I tried it. Bad rollout imo. Currently not possible to add identity… and all accounts are embedded wallets. So I have absolutely no idea who anyone is. Why in the world would I join anything, let alone pay? How will people know to join when I start my own? I’m supposed to go recruit them?

(Actually it seems I *can* add identity, but only once you’re actually in a group. Which I would guess is a big reason it feels very confusing there)

I'm confused about this too. $80 in ETH to join the town hall? and even after I link a wallet I can't use that to pay? I did make a @purple town at the lowest entry fee possible if anyone else wants to look at the product. https://app.towns.com/t/0x2bfc7fb2571cb7d97a159bdd848d2341c0fb4377/
