Love this. Imo a thing that can be confusing / tempting to people is seeing that the individuals who "win" at social media (get lots of views, follows, likes) are the ones who get the *best* options for social networking (meaningful connections). And it can be easy to get lost in the means while pursuing the end.

yes, a perennial temptation for humans. relates to my larger life hypothesis about the importance of finding people who are intrinsically motivated, not extrinsically motivated. have you ever been to an amazing dinner party and thought "wow, that was great. it must be bc they have so many followers on socials"? never.
