ted life tip: if you want to use the internet in a way that is most likely to add to your overall wellbeing, approach it as a social *network* and NOT social *media*. the social network approach cares about replies, DCs, URL-to-IRL meetings, ongoing convos the social media approach cares about views, likes, followers

when i think about farcaster, i think about my friendships with @greg, @zachterrell, @adrienne, @samantha, @grace, etc. i think about my work with @mcbain or product sessions and demos with @linda, @swabbie.eth, @nonlinear.eth + @matthew. i never think about my follower # until someone inevitably points it out.

Love this. Imo a thing that can be confusing / tempting to people is seeing that the individuals who "win" at social media (get lots of views, follows, likes) are the ones who get the *best* options for social networking (meaningful connections). And it can be easy to get lost in the means while pursuing the end.

Yes! This has absolutely been my recent approach to being on different apps/in certain spaces. Especially with my 2024 word being "Connect", I'm more intentional about spending time in a meaningful way
