–> Random dude loses $1500 in crypto. –> BBC writes 1500-word hit piece on it. Man, legacy media *hates* crypto so f'in much... but yeah this article's particulars are truly painful to read. Multichain should be made nearly impossible for normies to enable. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c93gydxj8n7o

he lost the money because of improper deposit instructions and chain/bridging complexity. blaming this on the user/media instead of recognizing the flaws in the systems is exactly why crypto is where it is and has no hope of reaching mainstream usage any time soon. this article is completely justified.

lol can’t believe they wrote all that over $1,500. That said, a lot of these exchanges (CEXs and DEXs) could do more to provide accessible video and written tutorials for users for these kinds of things.

The worst part is every time a company says their wallet can't do x They are one contract address in a database away but they just let the customer suffer

If I lose $1500 and I get an article exactly the length of how much I lost I would loose it

I can't wait for the day that this is a non-issue. It took 50+ years for traditional transactions to become easy and ubiquitous - we have the benefit of all that knowledge today.

Yes, I read that. Two thoughts: 1) crypto is not easy, 2) if it's too complex for you don't play with it or write about it. "like choosing which courrier service to use" Really? Bad comparison.

Our industry reputation outside of our bubble is so bad. Serious work needs to be done on that, but we need to all get along for enough time to work together on that.

Agree. Not national news worthy but also it is about time we built for the masses. Do you think ai agents can help in the ux for inexperienced users?

This really feels more like a Revolut problem than anything else. All I’m seeing here is “Centralized profit driven corporation refuses to offer basic support for valued customer.”

Even as a long time full time crypto worker, I have fucked up sending funds to Coinbase once. Multichain is incredibly unforgiving. User: “Wait they are both EVM where did my funds go?” Service provider: “Blackhole and we have not liabilities here”
