We read Orwell’s Animal Farm in my 8th grade class. It was sandwiched between Agatha Christie and Sherlock Holmes (which I also enjoyed). But Animal Farm captivated me in a very different way. It made me not just want to figure out what happened in the story, but figure out how the real world worked. Great book.

"I write because there's some lie I want to expose". I never read Orwell before, but recently, I watched a mini-documentary about him. The plot of Animal Farm sounded too familiar for a USSR kid like me

I watched The Fountainhead in high school without knowing anything about Ayn Rand. It wasn’t until years later that I learned about the author, but the movie had left a big influence on me.

Animal Farm was a captivating and thought-provoking read that left me wanting to understand the complexities of the real world.
