Today was a really rough day. After five days of heat, and having to quasi involuntarily go to the beach because of a power outage in the village, finally this 👇 became the view from the balcony. It really scared me beyond many prior experiences and made me understand how privileged I Am. It‘s out now 😮‍💨

yes it is fucking scary. There were a few firebrigade lights blinking in the distance but compared to the flames looked tiny. After having seen this, and seen a Vulcano slightly spit lava (during a prior visit), I can understand why they believe in „hell“ and god here 😅

yes it seems to be extinguished now, but to be honest the Sicilian reaction in the village was always business as usual. I was shitting my pants seeing this but kids were out playing and people had evening drinks in the piazza like nothing was happening
