Local-first anonymous transactions that can happen at a merchant with no internet, have sufficient security guarantees for that interaction, and can eventually roll onto a chain as needed.

Oh, one other one: absolutely foolproof key management! I understand this is wicked hard, and there are already a lot of experiments being run in how to best achieve this. But it's existential for all of software and human rights in the information space.
