See the cast below this in the thread. Essentially it’s unoriginal, unnecessary, and likely just a play for client lock-in. https://warpcast.com/thumbsup.eth/0xa8f32dad

As someone building a consumer facing app on top of this rich-social-feed-that-plays-nice-with-crypto, I totally disagree with you. See example below for one of the key frictions it solves for a net new user to WC, who just wants to come in and make transactions in-feed: https://warpcast.com/tldr/0xaa39823a

Seems we’re talking about new users who are both already wallet holders and interested in having a connected wallet but also don’t know much about using wallets. I’ll agree that in terms of on-boarding new users to wallets by way of Farcaster it makes sense. In any case, I’m not saying there’s no use case for it. My main point was it’s not innovative adding wallets in to every social app. It has been done over and over again. All the way back to the discord days with Bot wallets. It’s also not strictly necessary though it’s clear from your anecdotal example that it could solve a headache for a group of inexperienced users, which is probably enough to make it worth having, from Merkle’s perspective. At present though its needs to be funded externally so one must have some familiarity with crypto and wallets to get started. So I’m sure you’ll still be getting some funny messages. It does create a certain friction and thus a kind of lock-in to WC, as I said.

I see your points in general. I'm only viewing it from perspective of our own plans as an App: + We are betting super hard on frames. + We want to be accessible not only native crypto users, but new to new ones. So just from this sense, it's the most important thing WC can give us. I do hope buying (and other experiences for newbies) will continue to get easier.
