Starting to get, on some posts, more interactions on Bluesky with 400 followers, than I do here with 32,000. And I’m verified in almost all the ways one can be, so I shouldn’t be shadowbanned. This happened on twitter almost two years ago and I began to see more value in posting to on FC than X. Hopefully it won’t be the case that Bluesky becomes the better option for me, because I do like it here. For now, I’ll keep posting to both and see what works best.

are you mostly posting leftist content on bluesky? because if so then seems obvious that it will outperform over there vs. a more balanced audience on FC

Will investigate. The views on your casts are a bit lower than what I’d expect to see

Thanks for the feedback! Can you share some of the posts from Bluesky where you are getting more interactions / good engagement? As Varun mentioned — we will investigate further.

by which metric? went through your last couple weeks of posts and only the cosmic one got any kind of engagement right? seems farcaster replies/likes are still far more consistent? that said i agree that follower count is not as meaningful as it once was, for better or worse active community here is small, i mostly engage with the same people this year as i did last year <3

I’m out here casting into the void. Sometimes I question why I bother. Perhaps I post for myself? I wonder if platform focus on broadcasting rather than conversing / engagement has influenced how people interact now. It seems that seeing a post is enough for many. No likes or comments.

i feel same as you do sometimes; i have hundreds and thousands of followers but not as many likes as on twitter with a fraction of followers. think it has to do with a) lots of inactive accounts here that show in follower count, b) greater audience / reach on Bluesky and Twitter, c) tbd better discovery on Bluesky

I've been testing a lot of platforms & I've found Bluesky to be tough to break into as an account that enjoys crypto. Same thing with Mastodon. I showed up and the first account that finally responds to my posts goes "you're gonna have trouble here. Mastodon hates crypto." Wild to me that entire platforms can feel that jaded towards a whole industry.

I’ve noticed similar patterns — Bluesky seems quieter but somehow more responsive.

Ive still been neglecting Bluesky. Maybe I'll try cross posting to there and see what the engagement looks like.
