in true basil fashion, here’s my max-character, grammatically incorrect wall of text & then i will never talk about it again 1) i’m still trying to process this; i don’t know that i can. i can’t imagine what the team is feeling; truly gut wrenching news. there’s not really much else to say: it’s fucked. in terms of the eco, its quite possibly the worst thing to hear when already dealing with a 4-day compounding hangover: instant sweats & a pounding headache to say the least 2) i yapped with “alex” through it all. as he came out of degendao; into openventures, into his dao/swap, into clanker. i never once got the feeling that he may be a bad actor & the dao supported him from day one. personally, we talked a lot about his past struggles; wanting to provide for his family; wanting to build better open systems—we shared a lot of that. it makes me question everything i thought i knew. it’s hard not to consider pathological angles

>checked out of my hotel, sitting on a sofa in the lobby looking for places to eat/work >tired mom and her adult son are waiting to check in early, son on phone and mom resting her head back on couch >mom starts snoring. son sheepishly wakes her up. we chuckle >3 min later, she starts snoring again and son hurries to wake her once more. we all bust out laughing and a fun conversation ensues

These past few days have been extremely tough on so many levels. The outpour of support has reassured me that the Clanker ecosystem has incredible strength and I will continue to devout all of my energy into building towards our goal of innovation through collaboration, empowering projects in an equitable manor for believers & dreamers. Clanker is more than one person and a single team. I’m incredibly confident that we’ll bounce back stronger than ever and our ability to gather attention towards projects will continue. Everyone will have to step up to fill this void, starting with myself, our team internally, and everyone in & around the ecosystem. As a first time founder being thrown into this complex situation, I promise to lead with pride, integrity, and strive to always do the right thing, building in public and taking ecosystem feedback to provide tools to help creators thrive. What makes FarCon So Special? (🧵) Farcasters are special. Y’all are my kind of nerds. We are the innovator class. We are the trailblazers who are super open minded and eager to try all of the new things. We are driven and motivated and for a handful of days, many of us converged into one place and got to hang out as humans. We worked, we played, we ranted, we connected, we broke bread, we gave hugs, and most importantly we put faces to the pfps and realized that every person we met was an awesome human doing cool things. We went from magic internet friends to real friends. We had incredible moments, made connections, and strengthened our bonds in a way we just can’t do over text. The URL to IRL pipeline is key and must be protected at all costs. The Summit was outstanding but the side events, shared Ubers /subway rides, coffees and dinners were the stars of the week.
