In case you missed it Here’s a preview of what’s changing with channels 1. Nothing is changing this week 2. There will be a bunch of communication to channel owners about the changes (beyond just casts) 3. One point of clarification that I saw come up yesterday: membership does not require your channel to have a token. Can you choose to do that? Yes! Are you required? No. Your channel, your rules. If you have feedback, feel free to reply to this cast or send me a DC. https://warpcast.notion.site/Upcoming-channel-changes-1056a6c0c101800caee6ea8133f8f966

If non-Members can’t cast into a channel, how might channel managers identify high-signal new casters to invite?

Yup. This ☝️That was my very first thought too. As a channel owner, I'll just invite people I can think of, at the expense of all the other potential great candidates. What about adding a guest (i.e. non-member) post that needs to be validated by a moderator before showing up in the channel? That would encourage quality submissions and help identify quality candidates.

This is a workable idea, but could lead to a ton of spam-ish posts needing to be reviewed. I think quality replies to the casts within a channel will signal to a channel owner ‘worthiness’ to add as a member

They could be reviewed or not, as long as there is a button to say "refuse all posts from this guy and prevent the account to guest post to this channel again", that seems manageable to me :)

Ahh, yeah that button to cut down repeat ‘guest’ casts from low-effort accounts would help filter the amount down well
