Is Farcaster dead?

I'm trying to get caught up on all the goings on after I've been so busy with school and other projects the last few weeks, and there's definitely been a big shift.

i've been having less real convos bc it's hard to find casts worth responding to

I think that's definitely true.  A reaction to a variety of forces - publicly speaking about certain topics is going to be dangerous, even on decentralized platforms where anyone, even the "bad" guys, can join and watch in.  But encrypted communication is still safe, so we'll likely congregate there more.  Gatekept Discord servers, Farcaster group chats.

But it's not just that - bots can't join group chats, so it's full human.  And even if you love AI, that human connection is still important.

this is a fascinating observation. even on farcaster where we perceive things to be more "private" are we collectively attempting to be even more "private" with our conversations right now?

The art community is still very active. I'm mostly in that bubble, so I don't see it as much perhaps. I do see all the meme coin stuff, which I mostly ignore. It did seem more "booming" two weeks ago though. It has slacked a bit since then.
