Sharing my observations about the influx of Americans to the Chinese app Rednote 🤣 I've been talking for a couple years about how China is *not* what American propaganda convinces us it is.  They've done a LOT to recover from the damage done by the revolution while still keeping a focus on uplifting their people.  It's just such a huge country that that takes time to do, so U.S. propaganda focuses on the most remote regions of the country to show conditions.  It'd be like if we only showed Appalachian coal towns and migrant workers to share what life in America was like.

The repeatable strategy is to strike a chord with people, evoke emotion, invoke reaction. It’s not easy to replicate consistently though unless you want to be incendiary.
