sure there are. tons. in fact, i think DIDs are really awesome.

just tell me who's actually using them today.

cb.id issued over 4M subnames through ENS dapp. And will probably do the same at some point for their Base chain with .base.eth

Decentraland did the same with dcl.eth for their game users

Decentralized no-code website builders are using them to add content hash record for website + .limo to resolve in browsers

Etc.

I wouldn’t bet against spruce.id. Really good team. I think these things need to be slow and take a lot of time to do correctly. But ok I see your point as well.

This goes back to my thesis that entire digital identity will be made out of identity primitives used as building blocks instead of one solution fits all.

oh, i see that you're counting ENS names and other forms of portable identity as DIDs instead of the W3C DID spec, which ENS does not adhere to.

i'm talking about disco.xyz, spruce.id, and Gitcoin Passport. the fact that you've conflated the two proves my point that nobody uses real DIDs.
