Vera Bergengruen, a journalist from Time magazine, stated that Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele's push for Bitcoin to become a legal tender was mainly for public relations purposes, rather than for substantial economic improvement. Bukele's advisor called the introduction of Bitcoin a "great rebranding" aimed at changing the perception of El Salvador by the outside world. Since the announcement of Bitcoin legalization in 2021, the policy has caused confusion, forcing the Bukele team to promote the potential benefits of Bitcoin. Bukele once proposed the establishment of a "Bitcoin City" powered by volcanoes, but the project has not yet been completed. He also regularly discusses using state funds to purchase Bitcoin, with approximately $400 million currently in the 'public wallet'. Bukele will continue to serve as president until 2029. @tfisabilillah

Funny issue: Base blocks show a 120m gas limit on basescan.... but all recent blocks are below 30m gas, the same cap as L1! @0xsmallbrain & co tried to get a 50+m big chungus transaction in & couldn't do it. i call fake news. the sequencer is sneakily still imposing a 30m-gas limit.

According to Portaldobitcoin, Brazil's largest digital bank Nubank announced that trading of its own cryptocurrency Nucoin will cease on Tuesday of this week. This action represents the end of the cryptocurrency business launched in March 2023. Customers holding at least 100 Brazilian Real Nucoins will be able to exchange them for Bitcoin or USDC (a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar). Users have a maximum of 90 days to make this conversion, which is before December 9th. If Nucoin holders do not make a choice within the deadline, the cryptocurrency will be reserved for accumulation and 'future benefits from the reward program'. @drunky

Ether.fi has released a proposal on the governance forum, proposing to launch Season4 activities on September 15th and launch new seasons every four months thereafter. In the subsequent quarterly activities, ether.fi will provide participating users with multiple rewards such as ETHFI tokens, partner tokens, LRT ² governance tokens, etc., with a maximum of 2 million ETHFI tokens allocated per quarter. Ether.fi added that LRT ² will be a new protocol for distributing LRT rewards, with the aim of integrating a large number of AVS reward distributions into a single reward token. @udrelondil

At present, the Federal Reserve has entered a regular "quiet period". Before officially "sealing off", two senior Federal Reserve officials hinted that although the employment report released on Friday was mixed, the Fed may still cut interest rates by half a percentage point at the upcoming meeting. However, they also stated that the Fed will remain cautious when taking action. It is reported that Federal Reserve Governor Waller and New York Fed President Williams have stated that multiple interest rate cuts should be made this year, given the decline in inflation and the weak US labor market. The Federal Reserve fund futures market fluctuated significantly this week and at one point believed that the Fed was more likely to cut interest rates by 50 basis points this month, but these bets were later reduced. @fyijb
