what happens when you report a cast? I just reported a bunch of off-topic / spam / ai garbage in channels that I care about, and then after the fact I realized I have no idea what that actually does

I think it was mostly the recent feed in /op-stack. The main feed of that channel looks more curated now. But I remember also seeing the main feed of /fitness filled with stuff that didn’t meet the channel guidelines

1. in the main feed or recent feed?
2. what channels specifically?

It casts the accounts far away. That’s why it’s call Farcaster

You probably, like everyone else, also need a rest 😄

1. Be nice to new people (and follow them!) and gently nudge them toward FC unofficial norms and behavior

2. Use the report cast and user functionality for bad behavior (don't worry there's nothing automated, everything manually reviewed)

3. Channel hosts — use hide to clean up your channel feed

Worth clarifying

If you follow a user, you'll see their content.

If you have a bunch of spammy cast reports in channels and replies (shared spaces), you're account will likely get labeled spammy. That said, people following you still see you're content.

Spam label is about losing discovery / reach.

Accounts get labeled spammy and effectively downranked/shadowbanned. Doesn’t seem it affects recent feeds/people you follow.
