I’d love to see a better way for registered charities to have a verified presence here and on-chain generally. A lot of conversations I’ve had in DMs, especially with non-US users, there is a lot of confusion and lack of knowledge about charities and charitable registrations. It’s actually part of a scamming problem we’ve had for decades- people call something a charity or donation but it’s actually a gift or tip, not a real tax-exempt government-stamp-of-approval nonprofit. Even the legitimate ones like Myanmar are actually just UK DAFs who get to hand-pick where your donation really ends up. Often times it’s used to pay for salaries and marketing BEFORE leftovers actually go to local groups for relief. Blockchain is about setting better standards so take it from this elder millennial who’s been in the nonprofit industry professionally for a decade. There’s nothing wrong with personal fundraisers but there needs to be a hard distinction between nonprofits, and for-pockets.

i think there is an interesting opportunity for merkle to use bots to selectively cross-post content from other networks to fc. (Another version could be bots posting top x links from subreddit y every {day, week}.) Haven't been there in awhile but iirc there were always a bunch of ig posts that were just SSs of the best/funniest tweets, and they work bc the truth is most people aren't multi-network and there's value in the distribution. Off the top of my head, x@techemails and x@startuparchive_ would be two great ones to start. I do some of this manually but I'd happily follow bots doing it programmatically for the right sources Ideally you can find this content you want to see on fc elsewhere, pipe it in, and then start commenting/qc'ing to generate community around it what am I missing?
