maybe dumb question but do men ever think about freezing their sperm? like do men think about fertility? even if sperm can regenerate (eggs can't) sperm quality similarly declines with age. freezing eggs can cost $30k+ (process + storage), but freezing sperm is maybe $500 total — and nowhere near as invasive.

Nope. Never had a conversation with basically anyone about kids, fertility, or even family planning really. There’s no zeitgeist about worrying about having kids at all (at least as an American male) and tbh I was shocked when i found out how much women have to think through that.

I am pretty deep in the infertility world running a surrogacy nonprofit Aging is not typically a concern for men that prompts the freezing of sperm The major issue with American men is either health related issues or active duty We are currently lobbying with an org called Resolve to make it required guidance

Never thought about it. Once I heard that the older you are, the uglier the kids you're going to have, so maybe this freezing makes sense 🤔

Been thinking about fertility (e.g. cell phone impact on sperm quality, having enough selenium in my diet, etc) for a while and I'm happy I was doing it (we ended up with a baby). But not really about freezing. For women, it seems to make more sense (not a doctor).

No I haven’t. But I think primarily because I’ve never heard of it being a concern. - someone who wants and is planning to have kids.

I would suspect the vast majority of men think much more about how not to have kids than how to have kids. Aside from that, there isn't really much education about changes in fertility and sperm quality in men as we age Makes sense for men who want kids and are intentionally delaying that until 40s should thin about it
