maybe dumb question but do men ever think about freezing their sperm? like do men think about fertility? even if sperm can regenerate (eggs can't) sperm quality similarly declines with age. freezing eggs can cost $30k+ (process + storage), but freezing sperm is maybe $500 total — and nowhere near as invasive.

Nope. Never had a conversation with basically anyone about kids, fertility, or even family planning really. There’s no zeitgeist about worrying about having kids at all (at least as an American male) and tbh I was shocked when i found out how much women have to think through that.

Yeah, my women friends that don't want to have children often get quietly denigrated by friends, family, even their own doctor that "you're being selfish" (it's one of Chelsea Handler's main talking points). Some of us builders just don't want to build humans! don't make us feel guilty about it

interesting, thanks. So how do you think about kids and family planning? or is the thought usually prompted and guided by a significant other (or a mother urging)?

Interesting, I think it's more of a thing in Europe, the topic comes up very often. The older you get the more you get nudged about it by parents & family If I'm asked I always tell friends to block all that out and only decide based on their own desires and not what others expect from them
