I swear that at age 42, every upper body workout I do feels like death the next few days. Sit ups, push ups, bicep curls— they’re all “Does this pain mean I broke myself and I’m going to die?” in the aftermath.

I get that with lower body lifts, upper body recovers more quickly somehow!

Pro tip maybe? I’m the same age and I exclusively do training using a tension band. Getting results with next to no soreness.

Perhaps you're lifting too much? Drop volume until you recover quickly and then slowly increase over the next 3-6 months?
