been thinking about channels ever since @ted posted this how does farcaster reward people for going deeper on a subject? how does it incentivize @matthewb to share about drinking chocolates or @keccers.eth to go deep on her health stack? basically…i want to replace my reddit searches with farcaster searches

I’m not sure the Reddit goal you speak of is a core goal of the platform. I don’t think they envision this place as a repository for knowledge the way Reddit is. Their attitude towards expiring data is the chief reason I question this. Dan has said some data should “fall off” after a few years. How would that work for great topics where consensus has been found over years?

yeah i’m ngl i constantly forget data expires — though the amount of reddit threads with deleted users = deleted content is becoming more and more common

I wonder if expiring data could somehow be sponsored and retained by individual channels that value it...
