my highest conviction prediction right now is that ai will enable millions of solo entrepreneurs and small teams to rebuild and compete with all existing saas giants there are opportunities lying on the ground everywhere, the closer to pure software the easier for a small team to just go after it and scale a docusign competitor to $1m arr not as sexy as raising a huge round for your crypto or ai startup but will get you a house wherever you want

think the problem is that this ’age’ will last 2-3 years given any kind of compounding ai trajectory then we’re in a post-scarcity world and your saas is worthless

I think these are a little overambitious timelines We've had the ability to paint digitally for last 35 years (PS released in 1990), yet the majority cannot make a simple poster The tools will improve, but so will the surface area of problems

well, you cant have it both ways its an incredibly weird world where ai gets _just good enough_ to give you a valuable saas but then for some reason dont accelerate from there im not making a claim about the exact timelines, but about the inevitable order of events

it’s only weird if you’re considering saas as a finite set of products solving finite set of problems AI obliterating current paradigm of saas only opens the opportunity for more powerful saas businesses we’ll always have the opportunity to add value, maybe in some other form
