We need to create better ways to curate and search information. Google isn’t personalized enough and people don’t want to give more data to Google. Social is often a good heuristic for information discovery (ie. filtering search to your following on Twitter) but is limited in search space. Anyone working on this?

I think knowledge discovery has leaned too much to be a passive activity (like RSS feed, twitter feeds, or even this purple app). These things have their place in encouraging discovery but we would benefit more from a knowledge discovery system driven by curiosity and your preexisting knowledge/worldview.

So turns out, @gord has been working on a protocol (noosphere) that may enable this. Maybe search/curation based on search can be built on top of it.

I think we’re closer than it seems to the next stop of info sorting. First step has always been accurate audio transcription, which we’re getting to far faster than I anticipated.

I mean, Tiktok is certainly working on this. In this "capture all eyeballs" world they just want you to open up "The App" and search. Honestly not sure a more decentralized approach is better.
