When should you get your smart contracts audited? 1. Before customer funds come in 2. When total funds hit $50k 3. When total funds hit $100K 4. When total funds hit $500K+ 5. Other Inspired by @briang https://i.imgur.com/s0n10yO.png

5 smart contracts can get audited as soon as they hit testnet, there's provenance for RPGF. an "audit" is a really low bar and can be a starting pistol for a rug pull, best possible scenario is that any security holes are discovered by randos who agree to return 90%.

1 BUT I do think finding reasonable options for said audit is prudent.

1 immutability on non-upgradable smart contracts makes vulnerabilities a critical painpoint regardless of funds For me it’s testnet for MVP and mainnet after being able to afford proper smart contract development and audits

1. No other option makes sense. Contracts are immutable. You hit even 50k TVL, audit your contract, turns out it can be drained... what are you going to do? Say 'oops sorry folks please pull your money out'? It's prob already drained by the time you type this out..

3. I honestly have no idea though. I just don’t know how you afford to get an audit as a web3 startup before raising?

Depends on: - level of complexity of code - experience and time of the auditor - how much money you have (audits are expensive!) - level of urgency to launch Too many factors to consider to give a one size fits all answer.

1 is the only decent answer. Even if you get exploited with 100k TVL and refund everyone, you will have suffered irreparable reputation damage making it difficult to ever gain trust again.
