smart contracts can get audited as soon as they hit testnet, there's provenance for RPGF. an "audit" is a really low bar and can be a starting pistol for a rug pull, best possible scenario is that any security holes are discovered by randos who agree to return 90%.

not sure if code4rena or oz is the best bang for the buck, but "stamp of approval" auditing is such a minefield.

Yeah I think the cost of audit is a crucial variable here
