Mac is the cornerstone of creative work, used for content production. iPod is used for consuming content, and when people update their medium for consuming content, it naturally becomes meaningless. But we always need tools to produce content, just like Mac.

I can imagine sales working differently now that the Apple silicon is flowing. The M chips have wayyyyyyy longer shelf life than any of the intel crap that was already years behind on release.

At some point the compute power of a laptop will be marginally better than phones for most creator use cases. It’s there now for consumer use cases. You will dock the phone to your keyboard, mouse, large monitor or headset, and do your work. So… yes, I think so.
