how can any reasonable parent encourage their kids to pursue a computer science degree in 2023? or any degree that leads to white-collar opportunities? what do we tell our kids to study besides learning to learn? going to be a challenging decade of parenting

If they're interested in tech, tell them to learn both HW and SW. It's gonna be a while before we have robotics advanced enough to replace network engineers, data center IT, etc. Most importantly, they still need to learn widely applicable soft skills like critical thinking, creativity, and scientific literacy.

Why should you not encourage your kids to pursue a computer science degree? (Curious)
