Feels like the vibe coding narrative has taken over the LLM-assisted coding use case over the past couple of weeks? Super hard to get cursor to make targeted changes to a file without it editing a bunch of other unrelated stuff. Has become less useful in my day to day workflow as a result

Same for me. I see all this extraordinary examples on X and people talking about it all the time. I haven’t seen anyone doing proper vibe coding and all examples look alike. It’s a psyop

I’ve essentially gone back to just writing code manually lol Occasionally I’ll have cursor/claude help with a tricky bug or menial task but… yeah it’s gone haywire recently. Borders on unhelpful.

Claude 3.7 just does too much i mostly still use 3.5 but have found 3.7 useful for when 3.5 gets stuck and especially for ideating/ architectural planning

it’s similar to what happened to dalle & co imo, as they expanded they became more generic and harder get useful results from not to say these tools are no longer useful, i just think the approach to using them shifts over time

I do think agent mode has gotten better at this recently if you prompt it correctly
