twitter's sins:

twitter committed many sins that hurt their ability to grow - maybe more so than the popular narratives.

One particular problem was the high Gini coefficient where
(a) certain people on the platform had huge followings (e.g being on the suggested list)
(b) the algo rewarded them with more followers

this had two particularly evil side effects

(1) new users would show up on the platform and go "oh there's no way I would ever get to 1m followers, let me give up"

(2) new users would start emulating these popular users who were *not* modeling good behavior.

and once a new user had a bad experience, that was that.

You're not concerned about the FC “auto-follow” list?

how is farcaster any different? Some ppl here also won the suggested user lottery, and it’s doubtful others will get to 200k followers 

not any commentary on those ppl but the same sins exist here
