haven't seen the show yet, but that's almost always my preference to read the books first It's such an interesting piece of Chinese culture, to see sci-fi/fantasy through a different lens. I thoroughly enjoyed that aspect of reading the books

prob better to read em first bc theres a lot of crazy scifi concepts that were great to experience in my minds eye. that said the characters in the book are pretty one dimensional

books start off slow but impossible to put down after I got into it. the show i find easy to disengage from as it skips over lots of details

Comparing a book to a film are two completely different mediums and unfair to one another. It will be eve be the same because “a picture is worth a thousand words” and a thousand words is necessary to create a mental vision. I’m watching it now, it’s awesome. :)

I feel like books are always more detailed and paints a bigger picture of everything Most times reading a book before watching the movie’s disappoints the reader… but it’s fun too Yeaah? Or is it just me ?
