What fiction written in the last decade do you think people will be reading 200 years from now?* Assume humans and books still exist in their current form

• Richard Flanagan’s “Narrow Roads to the Deep North” If I can have an extra decade, then I would say: • Sebastian Barry’s “A Long Long Way” • Aravind Adiga’s “The White Tiger”

As much as I dislike his books, I could see Franzen being read 200 years from now. If he were still alive, David Foster Wallace would probably make the list too.

tbh nothing. I can't think of anything that speaks to the human condition deeply and resonantly enough to a) transcend our current context b) become enough of a meme. Would be delighted to be proved wrong, and watching this cast for recs.

Something from Ted Chiang for its timelessness, or Kim Stanley Robinson’s Ministry for the Future for its being so right… (or so wrong, I guess)
