I think we need to apply some of said patience in judging his job at Twitter. He’s been there for 6 weeks.

I don’t think he just assumed he would be amazing at it, but I do think he assumed he could do it better than the old management team. And after reading these twitter files, I completely agree. And his willingness to go back on his decisions suggests he recognizes the learning curve.

Yeh but he told anybody who’d listen how smart he was and would fix it, quickly. 

The height of hubris is being amazing at thing X (he’s an incredible mechanical engineering visionary) and just assuming you’ll also be amazing at thing Y without any struggles or learning curve.

Sure, patience for improvements. But banging the free speech drum for months and then impulsively banning a few journalists and your main competitor is pretty inexcusable
