I'm always second guessing myself unsure what voice to pay attention to. An agreeable LLM as therapist is another tool, but how many would understand that? Ppl already confirmation bias their way through appeals to 'do your own research'.

Not sure how I feel about using LLMs as therapy tools. How many people use therapy as a tool for confirmation bias and will now have easier access due to LLMs being taught to be reasonably agreeable?

Definitely confused by the trend of pfp collections launching coins. They want to capture liquidity and memecoin market but won't have the same value/benefit which in time will just ruin the appeal of the pfp collection. Shortsighted

But that's a good thing because they don't have to report cost basis on noncovered assets. So, no change necessary vs the old system (keeping track of it yourself and filing it without help of exchanges).

Sure. Same for me atm. But for 2025, exchanges *must* report and so if theirs don't match yours, that's an issue. But luckily, you don't have to inform them when it's noncovered assets transferred in.

Ah, so it turns out any "outside" assets will be deemed "noncovered" and cost basis does not need to be reported. Problem solved. https://koinly.io/blog/form-1099-da/

US crypto/tax people: with brokers/exchanges having to report crypto transactions in 2025, how do you transfer your cost basis to the exchange, so that they report the right gain/loss? Will there be an option to specify that? Anyone know?
