What's your process for buying/trying new running shoes? Kinda hard to figure it out when you only really can feel the effect of them on a long-ish run. I keep looking at all the shoes available and just feel stumped.

Like after a year of active running, I'm still not sure whether I have the best shoe for my needs. Mostly taking out asics nimbus 25 easy + long runs and new balance rebel v3 for faster runs. Want to try Altra, but also, don't like just buying shoes and having to toss them after like 20-50km if they hurt/suck. :/

If you are comfortable with ASICS (with large forefoot) I can suggest the Kayano. I’ve used them from model 22 up to 30 now. I you want to try the new carbon plate tech, ASICS magic speed 2. If ASICS is your brand, stick with it and try different models

Have been eyeing the Kayano! Love the Nimbus and not a big fan of the Cumulus.

I’ve ran “some” kilometers on the Kayano… I cannot but recommend them.
