Every artist in the world dreams of performing at the Grammys. Since I was a kid, I had been manifesting it, and two years ago, it happened. I was invited to perform with my favorite singer, John Legend.
I actually didnât know what I was in for until about five days before the show. I couldnât believe it when the CEO of the Grammys called and invited me to sing. I was in shock, but I was also exhausted. It all happened after cancer, a failed IVF attempt, and just as the war in Ukraine had begun. I performed, but mentally, I wasnât ready for any of it.
After the performance, I wanted to hide and not respond to anyone. I ended up losing my voice for a month, too. My point is that our mental health and overall well-being are incredibly important. If either is struggling, weâre not truly ready to enjoy our dreams when they become reality. Thatâs why I will always be the biggest advocate for mental health.
Please take care of yourselfâso when your dreams come true, youâre ready to enjoy them! 31 replies
