Ever since I ditched squats for more friendly/natural movements my strength and size have exploded. I tried for 10 years to perfect my squat form and just could never feel comfortable doing it. My max 1rm with back squat was ~350lbs.

So what do you do now? Sounds great!

I focus more on just building muscles by any means necessary rather than forcing arbitrary lifts and hoping that muscle grows. for quad growth (which let's be honest, this is why people squat), I do Leverage Squat Machine, bulgarian split squats, leg extensions, sissy squats, leg press, smith squats

So if I understand correctly, you focus on exercises that feel good? What about weight? Still progressive overload or also more what feels right?

That's an oversimplification. More like I don't force lifts (such as barbell squats) that for me are awkward to do, incur a lot of fatigue and joint pain, and don't stimulate the muscles I want to simulate enough. I use a rep goal / double progression system to progressively overload.

Not that I follow Dr Mike from RP teachings closely, but just yesterday he released a video about barbell squat vs hack squat. Kind of fits into this conversation about fatigue, stimulus, etc...
