Was genuinely fascinated at how fast padel has grown as a sport globally in recent years (along with pickleball in the states) bifurcating the racket sport genre with more variants. TIL: It was invented in the 1960s by a mexican businessman. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49wdo0GDwp8

it is truly fascinating. in my opinion it brought an existing audience (tennis players) and also attracted new people because it is easier to start than tennis but hard to master. (as a side note, it would be super fun to register scores on chain. something like @receipts but for matches)
