Mayor Pete is not running for Senate or Gov so he can run for president in 2028. He's been good on TV and I think he righted ship at DoT after a lot of initial stumbling. He is a great communicator. He clearly knows his stuff. And he's a rare Dem on Fox etc. But a question from over here (EU) ... there appears to be a high correlation between the current administration's actions and the authoritarian playbook. Is this getting discussed? Are there concerns for the mid-terms?

Of course there are concerns. But I would say the concerns to date have mostly been about the "liberal" part of "liberal democracy." Trump has no regard for truth, demands total fealty from Republicans, and intimidates mainstream media outlets with lawsuits and access restrictions, which makes it much harder for the public to get a grip on what's going on. He's also tried to install rubber-stamp judges, and is engaged in a massive Executive Branch power grab. We see that in the mass firings and the harsh and arbitrary immigration enforcement (violating the spirit if not the letter of the law). But the judiciary continues to check his power.
