The UX stuff is being implemented now. 

I actually think it’s not a case of didn’t know but more a case of didn’t focus on until the network had enough reach to be a problem. We’ve thought about it since day one, it’s actually good to have all clients + protocol aligned to solve in better and new ways.

are you trying to enforce this at a protocol level directly or building in tools clients can use to handle spam/scams more easily?

There’s a ton being worked on at the client layer. If you have an inbox on XMTP, there’s an inbox security council you could join.
