ecosystems like eth op and farcaster will trick you into thinking you’ve made a compelling product because there’s a “kumbaya let’s all win together mentality”.

it’s negative signal and will keep you from the truth: you’re product isn’t compelling enough

from my experience the kumbaya is genuine; people are willing to *try* your product. what happens after that is reality: either they stick around because product is compelling or they don’t because the truth is product sucks - simple as.

this reflects my experience and usage. he's correct in that farcaster's eagerness leads to more grace, more good-will than is fair for some products. it's bad signal and hungry devs soak it up, to the detriment of their product. but that's not unique to farcaster, even if our exitable team-building makes that noise louder. you have to adjust for sycophants.
