Precisely. I guess ‘experiment’ has become a euphemism for slightly remixed efficient trend-chasing, but then there’s always funding for that.

So we all just optimise for what’s fundable, meanwhile truly exploratory things become liabilities.  

At some point it’ll change, I just wonder when.
