The tone on farcaster is much better than other socials. It's noticeable and quite refreshing

Indeed. Things move faster once you acquire a power user badge and get the subtle algorithm buffs.

The nice thing about replies is they start a very direct connection with a person, even if they don’t respond back at first.

Given time I think effortful replies are hard to go unnoticed; whereas low effort replies may get blended in with bot-like accounts.

This is so helpful. It can get discouraging casting to no one. Just trying to find my people! But I do still crack myself up, so it's not a complete loss haha

5 dollars is nothing compared to how +EV the Farcaster ecosystem has been, and thus profitable to bot.

The infrastructure is great for communities to find a new place to settle into.

But the explosive growth of $degen is what attracted hoards of people, of which tipping and other aspects have monetized participation.

Is it really many bots here? How come? I mean, I have to pay 5 bucks for it, thinking there will be more real users and I don’t mind paying as I am looking to engage in more meaningful way.

Definitely some unlearning to do. It doesn’t help that a lot of the language is indeed botted and because it seems so common, people pick it up as the social norm.

I guess the problem for many people from the crypto world is that they got used to idiotic ways of interacting with others (LFG and other conundrums). So it´s probably hard for some to write messages that mean something a bit meaningful

When it was once invite only it was come for this cool thing that people are building, stay for the cool people.

Now it’s come for the $degen, stay for the people.

Thankfully it’s scaling quite well so far!

Recently joined and it’s refreshing to see how positive, respectful, and generally good the vibe is here.

Damn is that why I have so many bot followers??

Especially casting to smaller channels I find important. We need more channels, and sub-channels, and UX to easily navigate them.
