today's quick cheap lunch was brought to me by a couple of last night's hangaku (half off) end of day specials, yakisoba noodles and a chicken, vegetable, & konnyaku mix

on the side is this amazing oboro dofu with raw egg, green onions, and a dash of shoyu and ponzi sauce ( it's called melting tofu, so soft it feels like it melts in your mouth)

i've had oboro dofu before and always loved it, but i had never served this way before, a new fave for sure

saw it as a suggested serving style on the tofu package and goddamn

we are lucky one of the markets nearby, about a 20 minute walk, has a large selection and is a little off the beaten path

its far enough from the beach and train stops that the prices are lower than the other nearby markets

It is very helpful to the family budget to pay half price just a little later in the day! I am jealous because the supermarket near me only gives me 30% even if I wait!😂
