Farcaster should have (near-)unlimited length messages like twitter. Having used it for a while, I feel like twitter's long message feature improves its user experience and its usefulness for high quality discussion.

why not just have it collapsable so like u have to expand it to read longer casts, but like just leave it up to the user to decide how they wanna do it (link it frame it cast it whatever u wanna do) ? i dont get why that has to be something the developers decide so exactly

Is the cast length not a Farcaster limitation then? I thought it was a protocol limitation rather than a client one?

Yes it is in protocol. For reading long form in feed frames with the content on pages are the current solution or threading though threads need to be marked by the caster else no one presses to read the second and so on
