It’s been some time since I’ve seriously started trying to create music (previous time was a live band). I would love to get into more electronic music creation and become more familiar with Ableton and music production in general. Has anyone bought any online courses that they would recommend ?

I can relate! Slowly working my way through Abelton when I have the spare time..Artist streams and tutorials via YT for me mainly. Point Blank Music School is awesome on YT..They also have online courses. And I haven’t taken it, but have heard great things about https://mrbillstunes.com/ableton-courses/

in many cases IRL > online but assuming it must be online, maybe first check your learning pattern. is it more of a poiesis, or do you like to follow along? studio-hour type for the former. structured for the latter if you want a directory of courses to check and buy, ironically, pirate sites work best wrt discovery.

Not really what you asked for, but given you're an engineer id say check out livecoding music environments like https://tidalcycles.org/ and foxdot. I had been missing my days of more serious making music but have been completely reinvigorated since discovering tidalcycles.

Was just searching for an Ableton channel and found this. I'm taking a course from these guys myself: https://www.productionmusiclive.com Bought the Everything Bundle so I have approximately 100000 hours to go till I finish 😂

If you are serious about it, I’d recommend looking for an Ableton certified trainer in your area. The group classes are pretty useful to get started quickly. And keep in mind that it’s like software engineering: RTFM and learn by doing. Then ask Google and YouTube when in doubt!

Can relate as last I created music was in 2020 and it was using GarageBand.😶‍🌫️ I recently found one of the old tracks and posted it to SoundCloud. Let me know what you think of it- https://warpcast.com/binaryfloyd.eth/0x7647e225
