One thing I try to take into account is my use of eco friendly packaging (star shaped peanuts) vs. bubble wrap. I have a few customers that care a lot about the environment, so I pack those orders with the stars. But the stars are actually less effective than the bubble wrap because they warp more with shipping. So my trade off is eco friendliness vs. likelihood that the candle breaks in transit. And customer preference. And for my current customers, that’s why there’s a bit of inconsistency in my packaging. I’m experimenting with the most eco friendly and effective packaging across different distances!

Do the star shapes work better than the "Cheetos puffs" shaped corn-starch-based peanuts?

Ultimately the most eco friendly is reducing waste, so whatever keeps the candle safe. I don’t mind bubble wrap because I hoard and reuse it lol. I’m not super fond of the big air packets tho because those take so much space to store.
