Just got my second wholesale rejection today! I feel grateful for rejections because it gives me more data on how to improve. And a larger chip on my shoulder to work harder 😂

Sorry to hear that - but you've got the right attitude about it! :) Was there any feedback worth sharing?

Hmmm it was more of a non answer “we’re not looking to stock any more candle brands, but we’ll keep your wholesale catalogue on file”. What do you think? How should I respond?

Looks like a typical polite decline. Do you send any of these folks free samples? I might reply with something like: "Thanks for letting me know - happy to keep in touch for when the time is right. In the meantime, I'd love to send you some samples. What's the best address for you?"

Samples are kind of expensive so I want to make sure that they’re aligned with the brand before sending samples. Do you think it’s worth sending samples still if it’s a polite decline? Also, should I ignore that she asked for the wholesale catalogue?

You know your business best, but the scents speak for themselves! My gut tells me having the product itself will align them with your brand better than any verbal pitch ever could. Maybe you could do some tealight size samples to send out to folks, and use some of the excess oil/wax as you make the normal size candles? Re: catalogue - I don’t know, and wouldn't want to push you in the wrong direction.
